Welcome to the Powerly API

This space is for developers working with the Powerly Open API.
Use it to ask questions, share ideas, and discuss integrations.

1. Getting an API Key

  • Where to create it:
Dashboard → Tools → API or go directly to
    https://dashboard.powerly.app/developer-api

  • Uniqueness: Each API key is unique per account.

  • Important: Changing your API key will break any charging points or Powerly Centers (see below) that depend on it.

2. What “Powerly Center” Means

In our documentation the term Powerly Center may refer to:

  • EV chargers

  • Smart meters

  • Smart plugs

All of these can be managed through the same API endpoints.

For EV chargers, Powerly’s Open API is built on the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP).
This ensures:

  • Full compatibility with OCPP-compliant chargers.

  • Direct use of OCPP concepts (remote start/stop, status updates) through simplified REST endpoints.

3. What You Can Build

With the Powerly API you can:

  • Build custom web or mobile apps (for example a branded EV-charging app).

  • Integrate Powerly into existing systems, such as:

    • ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) platforms

    • EMS (Energy Management Systems)

    • Fleet-management tools

    • Smart-city dashboards

    • IoT or home-automation systems

  • Create custom dashboards and analytics interfaces.

  • Automate workflows, e.g. billing, usage reporting, or predictive maintenance.

The complete, interactive reference is available here:

4. Payments and Settlements

  • Every Powerly account is automatically linked with Stripe.

  • Payments for charging sessions settle directly in your Powerly dashboard, where you can withdraw funds.

  • If you prefer, you can connect your own payment processor via the API.
